Thanks to all that joined in on the fun. We were the opening band for the day one party sponsored by the Weekly dig. The show was a blast, and we're glad we were brutal enough to open for the BAD BIOLOGY party!
Some press on the event. xo
Boston Underground Film Festival (BUFF)
Fans of alternative, confrontational, political and downright entertaining films will get their fill at the Kendall Square Cinema March 19-22 with most of the program repeating March 23-26. The Brattle Theater host screenings March 20-21.
The festival opens on Thursday, March 19th with the New England premiere of Frank Henenlotter's Bad Biology, his first film in sixteen years since cult classics Frankenhooker, Brain Damage, and the Basket Case trilogy. A twisted tale of love and weirdness, the film is about a young man and woman driven by biological excess, who search for sexual fulfillment, unaware of each other's existence. Henenlotter and producer/co-writer and underground hip-hop star R.A. the Rugged Man will answer questions after the screening.
The festival closes Sunday, March 22, with the New England premiere of Chusy’s (Anthony Haney-Jardine) acclaimed Anywhere U.S.A., winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. The twisted Americana comedy is a wildly original triptych of loss, penance, and ignorance. Quentin Tarantino called it “one of the most moving experiences at the Sundance Film Festival.”
The opening night party on March 19 at TT the Bears in Cambridge features a multimedia expeirence with live music by Get Laid - raucous girl-fronted punk; Uncle Monsterface - puppet rockers from NYC (beloved ex-Bostonians); and BIG DIGITS - Boston's best hip hop/rap group of 2008.
